Workshop
From Borrowing To Being
Maxine Beneba Clarke's journey to becoming a published author started in the libraries she loved as a kid. In this interactive workshop, she discusses the instrumental role that libraries and librarians can play in the lives of young readers, and how her writing journey might have been different if the shelves and offerings of Australian libraries had been different.
Includes a series of activities on text curation and library display, how to encourage written responses and reflections from students, and how to ensure no one is left out of the library experience regardless of background, interests or reading level.
